Biography

Self-taught, Marie Breton has been actively exploring creative outlets to materialize her questioning of identity, the perception of self as well as the concept of home, incarnate the narratives her relentless imagination creates as she observes and analyses the world around her, and redefines reality through a poetic understanding of light.

Her work varies in medium from photography to mixed media, drawing and writing. Photography has been her main choice of communication for the past 19 years, alternating the use of 8x10 cameras, her old Canon SLR and a smartphone, investigating the codes and limitations of each as an integral part of the concepts she transcribes through her imagery.
